Tower of sin

"I dont know, maybe break a hip or something. you are kind of old" Kaycee said making a face at her. she completely ignored Aji

Tamerie's eyebrow twitched. "Old? Me? Ha! What's a little thumb-sucker like you know about age? I happen to be a teenager in elvish terms. Besides, I saw how you acted tough in the forest. Your face still hurt?" She grinned, then glanced at Aji. "Hey kid, who are you people anyway?"

"You people? Sheesh, you really are mean," Aji said, mistakenly thinking she was making fun of them for being dragon-blooded, "my -name- is Ajipreah, and this is my new friend Kaycee. Mother, that fox lady you me-... wolf lady actually, is Rujin. This is my room too... room study thing, anyhow."

"yea so you can just back off you old fart" kaycee said giggling

Tamerie grumbled. "I didn't mean it like that!" she said to Aji. She gave Kaycee an annoyed glare, then sighed in frustration. "Whatever." Tamerie walked past them and plopped down on the bed, one leg crossed over the other, and her arms folded behind her head. "Little kids think you're so clever. If it wasn't for that stupid branch, I woulda swiped that gem all from under your noses." She chuckled.

"what are you talking about?" Kaycee looked at Aji

"Uh huh," Aji ran over to his bed and jumped up on it, and up and down a few times, before he plopped on it beside her and lay next to her with his chin in his hands, legs kicking in the air, and tail swishing back and fourth, "So how bout you? Huh? You obviously isn't normal fer walkin into a tower with two dragon kids and a wolf lady. I mean not that it's a bad thing. We don't really get visitors often. You shouldn't steal things from your hosts though. That really is mean."

Tamerie sighed. "Mean this...mean that. Is that the only word you use or something for someone like me? Yeah, so I'm a thief. I take jewels and stuff for the thrill of it. I'm not mean, it's just what I do." She sat up. "And the reason I'm here is cause your mom made everything all muddy and I needed a bath. All there is too it."

Without putting very much thought into what was going on in the house, Rujin makes her way back up the stairs into the first floor. She realizes she feels somewhat hungry, and closes her eyes, focusing on a spell to inform herself of the time. "...Not quite dinner time..." The humanoid goes to the kitchen, and starts going through the cabinets to see if she can find herself something to eat. ...But realizes they weren't put in their paranoia-precise placements. "...Someone got hungry..."
This triggers a fairly lengthy checkup that was done to feel organized, which in the while she multitasked to cooking something to hold herself over on.

Kaycee shrugged and sat on the bed next to them "fine I will not call you mean anymore, but you have to promise not to steal anything ok" she then looked at Aji "so do you think you can get anymore sandwiches?"

The elf kept her blue eyes focused on the ceiling. "No promises, kiddo." She then turned on her side to face them, her hand supporting her head with a bored expression on her face. "Geez...now I can't think of a fun reason for being around here. I thought this place would be my meal ticket to a lot of jewels and stuff..." She sighed heavily, her eyes closed. "Boy, was I mistaken."

"Oh! Right! Sandwiches! I'll be back guys!" Aji hopped down from the bed and went to the kitchen, where he of course found Rujin. Upon that, he ran right by her and started gathering stuff for sandwiches and soup, "Hi mother! Say... I know she's a nice lady and all, but is it so good to have that elf lady in the house? I mean if she steals the wrong book and reads it... well, I don't want anything bad to happen to her ya know? .... hey, what do elves eat? I was just gonna make Kaycee the same I eat, but I dunno about elves..."

Aji caught Rujin at one of the less fortunate times she could have...More or less in the end a chef's block. Hearing him, her ears perk up and she looks over to Aji. "Oh, hi Aji." Her voice made it clear she was distracted trying to figure out food, silently surrendering things to Aji as she decided to watch, to steal ideas from what he was making.
"Just about any book she could end up getting her hands on is just typical information you might as well hit a library for, and the ones that aren't won't trigger some spell by skimming through a page." Nevermind the mention, though, that her room is enchanted to be flooded with unusually dense water that won't spill out even if the door's open, (a personal convenience) or several secret rooms, such as that her office-ish room can't easily be accessed with the lack of door handle... "The most I'm scared of is that she's going to nab some game that I haven't got a chance to play, and that's pretty replacable unless I get a gold edition."

However, to the eating question, Rujin paused a bit, giving enough time for an idle tail wag as she thought about it...Her foods' been decisively carniverous, though she tried to be more balanced for Aji...but she wasn't quite sure what races ate what without some kind of book to walk her through.
"...Uhmm...People food." she points towards the sandwich ingredients. "That should be fine." was said without any hint of reassurance.

(Side-note: Rujin will follow Aji back if he heads to the room in his next post.)

Aji, totally clueless on what to make then, decided to go for some basic things (think grilled cheese and tomato soup). Putting aside that he wasn't the best cook in the world (yeah Rujin...), he brought everything together on a big tray, sandwhiches and all, and decided to be the entirity of everything he made into his room again while simultaneously hoping that Kaycee or no one would be in the way. Seeing as his two hands were full, he used his tail to knock before entering (handy that huh), and then realized it was technically his room anyhow, so he entered with his tray o soup and sandwhiches, which he set down on a nearby table.

"There ya go," he said while jumping back up on to his bed, "It aren't anything fancy, but I did my best. Sorry. Mother never taught me a whole lot about cooking a-" he stopped, realizing that he might've just accidentally hit a blow on her pride, to which he smiled sheepishly at her and hopelessly scratched his head.

Tamerie snatched a half slice of one of the sandwiches and inspected it for a moment. Satisfied that it was safe, she tasted it. "Not bad," she commented, kicking her legs back and forth. A small yellow ball of light came out of her hair and snatched the sandwich out of her hand. "Sara!" she shouted at the ball. The sandwich hovered around just out of Tamerie's reach before it dropped on Aji's head. There was a high pitched giggle, and the ball of light disappeared back into her hair. Tamerie sighed and looked at Aji considerately. "Sorry about that. Sara and the others tend to act on their impulses when a chance for mischief comes around."

Rujin, though unfortunately from being behind Aji out of his vision, tried to signal being available to carry some...But ended up switching that to a small clap at the tail trick. Listening, she shakes her head, saying "It's ok, I'll need to get around to doing so..." she looks towards Tamerie, and blinks a few times, watching the whole thing. However, when the sandwich was suddenly dropped, Rujin quickly snatched it out of the air as if defensive of Aji's cleanliness.
The makirak offers the food back to her. "I see...What is Sara exactly? I think I have an idea but I don't want to be mistaken..."

"A willow-the-wisp." Tamerie answered, taking the sandwich back. "Met them a few years ago in this evil forest. They're normally very friendly though, when they're note trying to pull some sort of prank on you."

Aji of course cringed in the inevitable impact of the sandwich that never happened. Slowly he opened his eyes and listened to the ensuing conversation. Aji of course wondered why suddenly he seemed to be the target of their pranks, considering the sandwich and the mud and all that stuff. Was that all their doing and not this elf's? Well it sounded crazy, but in the first place, the floating ball of light was undeniable, and he was a dragon-blooded, living in an incomplete mage tower with a wolf-like woman for an adopted mother, whom had previously been some sort of elemental creature. What was not crazy about the whole thing eh?

Feeling out of place again, Aji just grabbed a half sandwhich for himself, a little bit of soup, and ate while sitting on the end of his bed and swaying his feet n tail slowly.

Tamerie turned onto her stomach and rested her hands on her interlaced fingers. She giggled at Aji's expression before she looked at Rujin. "So...I don't get why you let me come here. Aren't you afraid I'll try to steal more of your precious things?" She smiled, kicking her feet back and forth.

Rujin gives a small nod, commenting quietly "So I was off..." to herself. She noticed Aji go for his bed, and feeling it unusual that he was being this withdrawn and seemingly not for shyness, she curiously asks "Are you not too hungry?" to him, hoping that what he replies would help hint her off if he just wants to be that way, or if something's really bothering him.

Hearing Tamerie's question, she sways her tail a bit, thinking only for a moment. "The golem encounter was a little more than I expected. I feel pretty safe about the whole idea of letting a thief in anyway: I think I need to be more worried about ones I don't know. I'll probably have some security in the shadows...Dunno yet..." she trailed off in thought, halfway because she was concerned about Aji (and a little bit of Kaycee's own silence) and partway because of the fact that she was plotting new security defenses.

Aji snapped back to attention when Rujin questioned him. He simply returned her gaze with a smile and held up the sandwich that was already in his hands (or rather, what was left of the sandwich, as he was already in the process of devouring it). If there was anything wrong with him, he wasn't really hinting it off. That was more so probably because there actually wasn't anything wrong right now... mostly. He was still staring at Tamerie most of the time. He hadn't really seen an elf before. That was in between his quick glances to Kaycee though. Curiosity was attacking him more towards her, but for some reason, he felt determined not to show it.

Tamerie snagged another sandwich slice. "So, what's exciting about this place anyway? I don't see what the big fuss is about this dinky old tower." She took a bite of the sandwich and wondered what she would try to steal next. Maybe there was more to this place than she originally thought? Of course there was. It was a wizard's tower. There had to be riches hidden away somewhere.

Rujin smiled back: Being assured your son was alright was comforting. She nodded happily to Aji, and leaned back to against the doorway.
When she heard Tamerie's response, she blinks a bit. "Considering the kinds of rumors that happen just because of me and the purpose of the tower's creation...There's plenty of fuss to make over that alone. This is the dead center of where resources are supposed to be exported, and also where the payments for it is supposed to come in." She held back mention of that someone dragon-blooded and a mage screamed treasure, considering mostly that it'd lay pretty thick stereotyping onto both herself and Aji... "When you get around to rumors and stuff, usually it's best not to actually have the courage or curiosity to figure out....Hype has a thing for overrating. This tower's pretty new, though, mind you."

Aji sits there eating his sandwich. Not really much for him to say or do right now. It wasn't like he knew how the tower was built and stuff. That was mostly done without him anyhow. Heck, he could barely control what power he did have, much less use it to build a tower.
